HCCS 2025-2026 Student Government Association

The Howard County Chinese School Student Government Association (SGA) is a self-governing organization composed of students in sixth grade and above, operating under the guidance of the Parent Association. As an important bridge between students and the school, the SGA always upholds the motto of “serving fellow students and giving back to the community,” playing an active role in campus culture development and social practice.

The SGA primarily undertakes two main functions: on one hand, they actively assist the school in organizing various major events—from rehearsing programs for the Spring Festival Gala to setting up the graduation ceremony venue, from promoting and selling flowers for Teacher’s Day charity sales to volunteering at various campus activities, SGA members can be seen busy everywhere; on the other hand, the SGA independently plans and organizes a variety of meaningful community service activities, putting social responsibility into practice through concrete actions.

In terms of community service, the SGA has carried out many meaningful projects: organizing students to participate in cross-community youth gardening work, promoting environmental protection and road cleaning campaigns, planning extracurricular youth exchange activities, and regularly outreach performance at local senior centers. These activities not only cultivate students’ sense of social responsibility but also foster a spirit of volunteerism characterized by dedication, friendship, and mutual assistance throughout the campus.

By participating in various SGA activities, students not only develop their organizational and coordination skills but also grow through hands-on experience, demonstrating the positive and proactive spirit of Howard County Chinese School students.

The SGA welcomes all students in sixth grade and above to join. The contact information for the SGA is: HccsStudentGov@gmail.com; and the website is:http://hccsstudentgov.wixsite.com/hccssga
