Grade 6, Standard Chinese (Revised Edition) contains 24 lessons, two exercise books, and three short cultural readings. The 24 lessons are divided into six units, with each unit including three narrative texts and one dialogue, all centered on a specific theme or knowledge point. In Unit 1, through stories about scientists and everyday life, students learn the importance of approaching things with a scientific attitude and practicing hands-on exploration. Unit 2 introduces elements of Chinese culture, such as naming traditions, zodiac signs, street names, and Spring Festival couplets. Unit 3 presents a series of lighthearted and meaningful stories from daily life, including Mom’s Bill, The Giving Tree, Kung Fu Panda, and You Are My Best Friend. Unit 4 shifts to scientific topics and humanity’s explorations of science, with lessons such as What Am I?, Red Ants, If You Get Lost in the Wild, and Exploring the Moon. Unit 5 returns to everyday themes with stories like Spring Festival Volunteers, We Are All Fans, Fitness, and Let Me Ask You Something. Finally, Unit 6 introduces well-known traditional stories from China and beyond, including Borrowing the Banana Fan Three Times, Three Monks, Six Little Dwarfs, and Cinderella. Grade 6, Standard Chinese (Revised Edition) differs from the first edition in several key ways. The revised version introduces additional training in listening, speaking, and reading fundamentals, giving students stronger practical skills in core language areas. The writing component now includes picture-based composition and email replies, which better prepare students for real-life communication and academic writing. After-class exercises have been redesigned to align more closely with the format and skills needed for future SAT and AP exams. The lesson content itself has also been refined. It is more closely connected to students’ real-life experiences, while the passages are shorter and the difficulty level reduced. This makes the course more approachable and less overwhelming, helping students learn Chinese with greater ease and confidence.

Grade 6, Standard Chinese (Revised Edition) also sets clear requirements in foundational skills. Students are expected to master 219 characters, 420 vocabulary words, and 24 basic sentence patterns. They should be able to read the texts fluently in Mandarin and engage in dialogue with others. The curriculum continues instruction in Pinyin while also introducing skills in using a dictionary, practicing Chinese typing, and writing characters in standard form. Beyond the classroom, students are encouraged to read Chinese texts on their own and to complete all assigned exercises with care.

七年级《标准中文》包括一本教材，两本练习册。全书 24 篇课文，共有 6 个单元，每单元 4 篇课文，均为叙述短文，内容包括公益活动、中国文化、学习生活旅游等。修订版教材更加与时俱进，学生练习部分更加丰富多样。

基础知识方面，要求掌握 252 个常用汉字，481 个词语，24 个基本句，能用普通话熟读每课内容，并在日常生活中仿照使用。

Teaching Method:

1. 授课方式除了传统的教师授课法，每课时安排一/两名学生，做"小老师"讲课。
2. 学生自愿报名，到低年级班讲故事，以此来加强口头表达和交流能力。
3. 课外读物《老天会爱笨小孩》，写读后感、随想、后续，或回答问题。

Test Evaluation
There are three examinations in the whole school year. The examination results are combined with the usual performance and serve as the basis for the final student awards.

课本中丰富了练习的形式，增加了听说训练、趣味性活动和游戏；加强了汉字教学，适当安排了字理识字、写字等内容，同时重视英语的辅助功能。涉及内容包括：
